Moffitt Cancer Center Names Matt Bednar as Vice President of Ambulatory Operations

August 03, 2017

Moffitt Cancer Center is proud to announce Matt Bednar as vice president of Ambulatory Operations. In this newly created role, Bednar is jointly responsible, along with Dr. Bob Keenan, vice president of Quality and chief medical officer, for developing and implementing patient care delivery systems and processes in Moffitt’s outpatient settings. The goal is to provide a world-class experience for our patients at every touchpoint.

“Ever since my mother was diagnosed with cancer 15 years ago, I have had a deep appreciation for all the wonderful care that occurs in outpatient oncology practices,” Bednar says. “I look forward to contributing to that process here at Moffitt where the mission is one I strongly believe in — to contribute to the prevention and cure of cancer.”

Bednar previously served in leadership roles with the Orlando Health Physicians Group since 2012. As director, he was responsible for the Orlando Health Network operations teams, physician performance and analytics.

He led efforts to better understand and use performance metrics by driving process and policy changes within the Orlando Health practices. He accomplished such initiatives as redesigning the practice business review process and performance variance reports, as well as mentoring many of the physician group managers.  Before joining Orlando Health, Matt spent seven years at Emory Healthcare in Atlanta, where he held senior leadership positions in the academic section of Medicine.

Bednar joins the Moffitt team on Aug. 14.
