TAMPA, Fla.  – Moffitt Cancer Center is pleased to announced that its senior director of Total Rewards, Amy Durham, has been named the 2016 HR Person of the Year in Tampa Bay’s Large Organization category by HR Shield and Elements Global.

Durham was selected from a group of finalists during a recent awards banquet at the TPepin’s Hospitality Centre. The Tampa Bay HR Person of the Year Award was developed to celebrate the Human Resources industry and to recognize those in the HR profession who exemplify outstanding achievement within the local human resources community.

“I’m honored to receive this recognition and am proud to work for an organization that has such a deep commitment to its team members,” Durham said. “Moffitt’s mission to contribute to the prevention and cure of cancer resonates throughout the organization, and I’m thankful that my role in Human Resources has given me the opportunity to support our team members in such a meaningful way.”

The 2016 HR Person of the Year Award was divided into three categories: small, medium and large organizations. Awards were also given for HR Consultant of the Year, HR Young Professional of the Year and Global HR Excellence. Winners were chosen by a panel of judges who have each been previous winners of the Tampa Bay HR Person of the Year Award. Selections were based on high performers who demonstrated creative approaches in Human Resources that have shown consistent benefits to their organization.

“Among the many characteristics that described her candidacy for the award, ‘passion, excellence in customer service, and always balancing the needs of our team members with her fiduciary responsibilities’ are most noteworthy,” said Mariana Bugallo-Muros, Chief Human Resources Officer at Moffitt. “We are thrilled to celebrate this award with Amy and are lucky to have her as part of our amazing team.”
