WHAT: Moffitt Cancer Center has been designated as a leader in Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) healthcare in the 2016 Healthcare Equality Index report by the Human Right Campaign Foundation.
The Healthcare Equality Index (HEI) is the national LGBT benchmarking tool that evaluates healthcare facilities’ policies and practices related to the equity and inclusion of their LGBT patients, visitors and employees. The HEI is based on four criteria: patient non-discrimination, equal visitation, training in LGBT patient-centered care and employment non-discrimination. In order for Moffitt to maintain as a Leader in LGBT health care, Moffitt team members were encouraged to participate in one or more online trainings.
