TAMPA, Fla. – Moffitt Cancer Center has been named one of the 150 Great Places to Work in Healthcare in 2016 by Becker’s Hospital Review. The list features U.S. health care provider organizations, such as hospitals, health systems, ambulatory surgical centers and home health agencies, as well as other types of health care-specific companies, such as consulting firms, health IT vendors, medical societies and more.
“We are honored to be included on this prestigious list,” said Moffitt Cancer Center President and CEO Alan List, M.D. “Each of our team members has the opportunity to help patients and their families battle cancer, and it is a very rewarding experience, whether you are directly involved in clinical care, research or operations.”
Moffitt’s comprehensive benefits package is one of the reasons Becker’s is recognizing the cancer center.
“The facility offers onsite clinic visits free of charge, as well as financial compensation for participation in wellness programs,” the Review said. “Moffitt also offers employees child and elder care, an additional four weeks of paid leave for new mothers, and one week of paid leave for new fathers beyond the 12-week period required by the Family and Medical Leave Act.”
Dr. List adds that leadership’s ongoing dedication to staying connected to Moffitt’s team members helped land the Becker’s honor.
“We put considerable effort into communications and keeping employees connected,” Dr. List explained. “We have a variety of printed and online publications, but we also have quarterly town halls that are available in person or online, as well as periodic open forums where we ask team members for their ideas on particular topics. Those topics usually bubble up from our annual employee surveys.”
