Moffitt Cancer Center hosts annual Cancer Awareness Luncheon in Sarasota

WHO: Moffitt Cancer Center, the only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center based in Florida, will host a cancer awareness luncheon that will celebrate the center’s 30th anniversary. Attendees will learn about the latest advances in cancer treatment, screening and cutting-edge research. All proceeds will support cancer research at Moffitt.

WHAT: "This is such a great opportunity for every person to equip him or herself with     potentially life-saving information and to learn more about Moffitt Cancer Center’s remarkable research and patient care,” said Moffitt supporter and luncheon chair Susan Malloy Jones. “We have such a remarkable panel of physicians who will be addressing a wide range of topics relating to the progress in preventing and treating different types of cancer. It’s also exciting to know that proceeds from the luncheon will bring us one step closer to a cure.”

The event will be chaired by Susan Malloy Jones, and honorary chair Eileen Curd. Special guest speakers include Dr. Tom Sellers, Moffitt center director; Dr. John Cleveland, Moffitt associate center director; Dr. Anna Giuliano, professor and director, Center for Infection Research in Cancer (CIRC); and Dr. Brian Czerniecki, senior member and chair, Department of Breast Oncology.

COST: Event tickets are $150; patron tickets are $300; sponsorships start at $2,500
