Allstate Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Good Works Team® - a team of 10 college basketball student-athletes dedicated to community service and volunteerism
WHAT: To celebrate the 2015 NCAA® Division I Women’s Basketball Championship, members of the Allstate WBCA Good Works Team® will bring their passion for volunteerism to Tampa during a special visit to Moffitt Cancer Center as part of the third annual Allstate WBCA Good Works Day. In partnership with the Kay Yow Cancer Fund®, Catchings will join Allstate WBCA Good Works Team® members to assemble and distribute TLC backpacks to patients and families and participate in a special art project with the Arts In Medicine Program. The team will also distribute autographed basketballs to Moffitt patients.
In its third year, the Allstate WBCA Good Works Team® is composed of 10 college basketball players from all divisions of the sport whose community service activities and selfless acts stand out among all student-athletes participating in college basketball.
The award recipients were selected from nominations submitted by athletic departments on behalf of their teams by a special voting panel of former student-athletes and coaches, members of the media and Catchings.
As part of the special visit, Allstate, an official corporate partner of the NCAA® and WBCA, will make a monetary donation to Moffitt Cancer Center to further the organization’s mission.
