Moffitt Cancer Center Hosts Program To Thwart Dating Violence, Cyberstalking

WHO:  Moffitt Cancer Center, the only NCI-designated comprehensive cancer center based in Florida, is offering this free domestic violence program to anyone 15 and older. Nurses will be awarded 2.0 contact hours under Florida provider number FBN 50-3184. No partial credit will be given. Licensed mental health providers (LCSW, LMHC, LMFT), psychologists and school psychologists can receive 2.0 Continuing Education Credits through Florida provider #50-7820 (expires March 2011).

WHAT: Moffitt’sDomestic Violence program, in partnership with the Greater Tampa Chapter of Oncology Nursing Society, “Dating Violence & Cyberstalking: Who’s Really Safe?

                        Presented by Eileen Dabrowski, USF Center for Victim Advocacy & Violence Prevention

                        A light meal will be provided. There will be a drawing to raise money for The Spring. Registration is required.

                        Participants will:

  • learn to recognize warning signs of potential violence in a dating relationship
  • describe two ways that social networking sites can affect personal safety
  • discuss measures to protect privacy and safety on social networking sites
