Olivia Newton-John and H. Lee Moffitt to Host Pink and Blue for Two at Busch Gardens

September 21, 2010

Tampa, Fla. Full Speed Promotions, LLC, announces that Olivia Newton-John is returning to host the second Pink and Blue for Two, PB42, cancer awareness event. It will be during Breast Cancer Awareness Month Oct. 27 from 8 to 11 p.m. at the Desert Grill in Busch Gardens.

A spectacular inaugural event was held in Miami last April, which successfully launched a unique campaign dedicated to raising awareness linking the strikingly similar statistics between breast and prostate cancers and urging couples to remind one another to go to their doctors for screenings.

Event organizers are thrilled to announce that Olivia Newton-John is coming back to host the second PB42 event. Newton-John is an 18-year breast cancer “thriver,” who dazzled the crowd at the inaugural Miami PB42, when she joined Latin superstar, Jon Secada for a surprise performance of “You’re the One that I Want” from the movie “Grease”.

“I am so excited to return to support PB42 in Tampa and to co-host the evening with my friend and mentor, Lee Moffitt,” said Newton-John. “The evening will not only be filled with music and laughter, but will also help create awareness of the striking similarities between prostate and breast cancers."

Olivia’s nephew and founder of PB42, Emerson Newton-John, said that hosting alongside his aunt will be her friend and founder of Moffitt Cancer Center, H. Lee Moffitt. As speaker of the Florida House of Representatives, Moffitt pushed through legislation that created the cancer center, which opened its doors in 1986.

“I am truly honored to join Olivia in promoting PB42. She understands the incredible impact that research has on curing cancer,” said Moffitt.

Newton-John will not only host the event, but will captivate the audience with her world-renowned, magnificent voice that has endeared audiences for decades. Also making his first appearance for PB42 will be Tampa native Eric Darius, a No. 1 Billboard-charting contemporary jazz artist.

Through the gracious referral of Tampa Bay & Co., event organizers are thrilled that the event will be held at Busch Gardens, the ultimate family adventure park, featuring an unparalleled combination of exotic animal encounters, world-class thrill rides and live entertainment. Within the Busch Gardens venue, the event will be held at the exotic, Moroccan-themed Desert Grill, which boats breathtaking architecture, amazing ambience and impeccable service.

The night’s sponsors will include Grey Goose (greygoose.com), Andrew and Tanya Savysky as well as Michael Asseff of 123 Lumpsum (123lumpsum.com), Gaspari Nutrition (gasparinutrition.com), Romulo A. Yanes and Robert E. Schaublin-Yanes, Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino and Pepin Distributing.

A portion of event proceeds will go to Moffitt and the Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness Centre, which will be built in Melbourne, Australia.

Tickets to PB42 are $150 per person and must be purchased in advance. They are available through Oct. 20 at www.pb42.com. For more information, e-mail Chris Perry at cmp@pb42.com.
