TAMPA, Fla. — Moffitt Cancer Center is teaming up with the Lance Armstrong Foundation to celebrate LIVESTRONG Day, a nationwide event to unite people affected by cancer. Moffitt’s Patient Library & Welcome Center will host a LIVESTRONG open house from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 30 on the second floor of the Muriel Rothman Building, 12902 Magnolia Drive.
The foundation is coming together with The New Tampa Family YMCA to develop a Cancer Survivor Wellness group. The program is dedicated to supporting people affected by cancer and helping them reach their health and well-being goals. The YMCA will have representatives to speak with patients and families about the group at 10 a.m. in the Patient Library.
Stop by to receive a Lance Armstrong wristband and cancer survivorship information. Multilingual educational resources and displays will be available, and there will be special tributes for courageous cancer survivors.
Everyone with a stake in the battle against cancer is encouraged to attend. For more information, call Morgan Brantley at (813) 745-2970.

About the Lance Armstrong Foundation
At the Lance Armstrong Foundation, we fight for the 28 million people around the world living with cancer today. There can be – and should be – life after cancer for more people. That's why we kick in at the moment of diagnosis, giving people the resources and support they need to fight cancer head-on. We find innovative ways to raise awareness, fund research and end the stigma about cancer that many survivors face. We connect people and communities to drive social change, and we call for state, national and world leaders to help fight this disease. Anyone anywhere can join our fight against cancer.
