WHO:             Moffitt Cancer Center, the only NCI-designated comprehensive cancer center based in Florida, along with USF Health and Facing Our Risk of Cancer Empowered (FORCE) are sponsoring the conference

WHAT:           Joining FORCEs Against Hereditary Cancer Conference, the largest annual gathering of the hereditary cancer community featuring the latest research, new information about hereditary cancers, and ways to reduce risk and improve quality of life.

                        Sessions include:

  • Updates from leading researchers on BRCA and hereditary cancer
  • Standard-of-care and cutting-edge options for prevention, early detection and treatment
  • Options for risk-reducing surgeries, including mastectomy (breast removal) and oophorectomy (removal of ovaries)
  • Information about post-mastectomy breast reconstruction and tips on insurance coverage
  • Strategies for coping with being high-risk and sharing risk information with family members
  • Methods to improve quality of life while living with hereditary cancer or hereditary cancer risk
  • Information about clinical trials involving high-risk individuals or survivors of hereditary cancer
  • Ways to advocate and improve the lives of people with hereditary cancer risk
