Tampa, FL – Some of the nation’s top CEOs are leading the way in the fight against cancer. Moffitt Cancer Center's President and CEO, Dr. William S. Dalton , is one of them. He’s now a member of the CEO Roundtable on Cancer, a group of corporate executives from major U.S. companies dedicated to reducing the risk for cancer, detecting it early and treating it effectively.
“It’s personally rewarding for me to join this elite group of CEOs who are so deeply committed to saving lives, said Dalton. “Preventing and curing cancer is what we do at Moffitt, but it makes me proud to see all these other organizations from diverse industries fighting the disease through health and wellness programs for their employees.”
The CEO Roundtable on Cancer started when former President George H.W. Bush asked the heads of companies to start working within their corporate families to educate their employees about cancer. Last year, the Roundtable awarded Moffitt Gold Standard accreditation as an organization that is improving the health of its employees and managing health care costs.
The list of members covers a wide range of executives from a variety of industries, including Tom O’Brien of AAA to Mike Krzyzewski, head coach of men’s basketball at Duke, as well as leaders of pharmaceutical companies and other health care-related businesses.
