TAMPA, FL— BJ’s Wholesale Club and Moffitt Cancer Center are asking the Tampa Bay area community to “think pink” this October at BJ’s “Pink Picnic” from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Oct. 2 at the BJ’s Membership Club at 7651 W. Waters Ave.
Stena Campagna, a local breast cancer survivor and coordinator of Moffitt’s FACTors program, will share her personal experience with the disease. Dr. Nazanin Khakpour will discuss advancements in the treatment of breast cancer. In addition, BJ’s will unveil the pink products they will sell throughout October at all stores to raise money for breast cancer treatment and research centers including Moffitt.
"The new partnership with BJ’s is important because it helps us to reach a broader constituency and share vital messages about breast cancer awareness,” said Susan Stern, the executive director of the Moffitt Foundation. “We are proud to team up with BJ’s this year. The BJ’s Charitable Foundation funds will be instrumental in helping us improve our unique approaches to preventing and treating breast cancer.”
Throughout October, BJ’s clubs will sell Folgers® Coffee, Pink Ribbon clothing, Q-tips®, along with many more items, and will donate a portion of the sales to breast cancer research and treatment centers through its BJ’s Charitable FoundationSM. The Foundation supports nonprofit organizations that primarily benefit women and children in all the communities BJ’s serves.
The “Pink Picnic” is free and open to the public. All attendees will receive complimentary lunch and a gift bag containing coupons, pink ribbon products and information on BJ’s Charitable Foundation and its support of breast cancer research and treatment.
