Tampa, FL- Moffitt Cancer Center has announced the promotion of Claire Modarelli as the new manager of Continuing Education and Conference Planning.
Modarelli will manage the meetings for all departments at Moffitt with a five-member staff. Additionally, she will oversee the planning of 16 conferences as well as the Grand Rounds that take place on Fridays.
Since 1997, Modarelli has been the Course Administrator for the Center for Minimally Invasive Surgical Techniques. Working for CMIST, her tasks have included organizing hands-on training sessions in Sentinel Node Biopsy and Breast Ultrasound for surgeons.
“My time here at Moffitt really has come full circle,” Modarelli said.
She was a member of the founding employees when Moffitt opened in 1986. Modarelli established Moffitt’s original Conference Planning Department.
Modarelli has more than 20 years experience in conference planning. She has given presentations as well as attended conferences all over the world including Australia, Japan and the Greek Isles. Fluent in three languages, Modarelli also has a background in international affairs, travel planning and the food and beverage industry.
“I’m excited that I can bring what I have learned from all my experience and training to my new position.” Modarelli said.
