Moffitt Cancer Center Appoints Kimberly Casiano to its Board of Advisors

Tampa, FL – H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute announced today that Kimberly Casiano, President of Casiano Communications Inc., the leading Hispanic publisher of magazines and periodicals in the United States., has joined Moffitt’s national Board of Advisors. Chaired by veteran ABC News correspondent Sam Donaldson, the advisors serve as Moffitt ambassadors and offer their expertise, advice and counsel on issues relating to Moffitt.

“Ms. Casiano is a highly respected entrepreneur with a vast knowledge of Caribbean and international markets. Her vast business and communications experience combined with her enthusiasm and commitment to finding a cure for cancer will be invaluable assets during this time of tremendous growth and change for Moffitt,” said Donaldson.

Based in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Casiano serves on the Ford Motor Company Board of Directors. The first Hispanic woman to serve on any of the top five Fortune 100 corporate boards, she also serves on the Board of Directors of Mutual of America, a Fortune 1000 provider of retirement and insurance products, the Puerto Rico chapter of the Young Presidents’ Organization, and the Access America Task Force of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

Her charitable commitments include the Board of Trustees of the Hispanic College Fund, a national organization awarding nearly 1,000 scholarships per year to Hispanic youth. She is co-founder and vice-chair of Nuestra Casa de los Niños, a Puerto Rico-based organization that provides private-school education for economically disadvantaged children. For 10 years, she chaired the annual fundraising event for the American Cancer Society in Puerto Rico.
