New Moffitt physician in Anatomic Pathology division

Tampa, FL  – H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute announces Geza Acs, M.D., Ph.D., as Associate Professor in the Anatomic Pathology Division.

He was an assistant professor of pathology and laboratory medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia. Acs received his medical degree and his post-doctorate degree in cellular and molecular biology from the University Medical School of Debrecen, Hungary.

His research interests are in gynecologic and breast pathology. Acs has published more than 40 clinical and research papers in numerous peer-reviewed journals. He is a member of the Gynecologic Oncology Group, Pathology Committee; the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the International Society of Gynecological Pathologists, the International Society of Breast Pathology, the American Association for Cancer Research and the American Society for Investigative Pathology.

In 2001, the National Cancer Institute awarded Moffitt the status of a Comprehensive Cancer Center in recognition of its excellence in research and contributions to clinical trials, prevention and cancer control. Additionally, Moffitt is a member of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network, a prestigious alliance of the country’s leading cancer centers, and is listed in the U.S. News & World Report as one of the top cancer hospitals in America. Moffitt’s sole mission is to contribute to the prevention and cure of cancer.
