Moffitt names chief of Anatomic Pathology Division

Tampa, Fla.  – H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute has named Dr. Domenico Coppola as Chief of the Anatomic Pathology Division. He has acted as Interim Chief since September 2005.  

Coppola began his career at the University of South Florida as assistant professor in the Department of Pathology. In 2000, he was promoted to associate professor and joined the Division of Interdisciplinary Oncology. From 2003-2005, he was medical director at the Physicians Right Path and CytoCor Laboratories. In July 2005, he rejoined Moffitt as a Professor.  

Coppola is a member of numerous professional and scientific societies including the American Society of Clinical Pathology and the College of American Pathologists. He has written more than 110 peer-reviewed journal articles.

In 2001, H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute earned NCI Comprehensive Cancer Center status in recognition of its excellence in research and contributions to clinical trials, prevention and cancer control.
