Nagi B. Kumar, Ph.D, R.D., F.A.D.A., Moffitt’s Director of Nutrition Research and Investigator, Cancer Control Program will discuss the most current research on the topic of nutrition, exercise and cancer connection and provide recommendations for nutrition and physical activity to reduce the risk for these common cancers. Dr. Kumar is also an Associate Professor of Interdisciplinary Oncology at the University of South Florida. She is currently Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Evidence-Based Integrative Medicine. Kumar has been project director of more than 30 research projects in nutrition and cancer prevention and the author of more than 30 publications in peer-reviewed journals and two books on cancer treatment and prevention.
In 2001, the National Cancer Institute awarded Moffitt the status of a Comprehensive Cancer Center in recognition of its excellence in research and contributions to clinical trials, prevention and cancer control. Additionally, Moffitt is a member of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network, a prestigious alliance of the country’s leading cancer centers, and is listed in the U.S. News & World Report as one of the top cancer hospitals in America.
