Moffitt employee wins Hispanic Business Award

TAMPA, Fla. Aileen Rodriguez, community liaison in the Community Education & Outreach department at H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute, received the 2006 Tampa Bay Hispanic Chamber of Commerce’s Business Award in the non-profit health category.

The awards recognize Hispanic-owned and managed businesses, non-profit organizations and employees who exemplify the rich contributions made by and for Hispanics in the Tampa Bay area. The mission of the Tampa Bay Hispanic Chamber of Commerce is to serve the community while energizing Hispanic business and the economic growth of Tampa Bay.

In 2001, H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute earned NCI Comprehensive Cancer Center status in recognition of its excellence in research and contributions to clinical trials, prevention and cancer control. Additionally, Moffitt is a member of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network, a prestigious alliance of the country's leading cancer centers, and is listed in the U.S. News & World Report as one of the top cancer hospitals in America. Moffitt’s sole mission is to contribute to the prevention and cure of cancer.
