September 05, 2006

TAMPA, Fla.  – H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute will kick off A Day of Football on Sept. 21, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will help launch Moffitt’s joint promotion with DIRECTV to raise money for cancer research. This is a free community-wide event and all are invited. It will take place in the Vincent A. Stabile Research Building on the Moffitt campus at 12902 Magnolia Drive. Valet parking will be available for guests who will enjoy refreshments and football-themed games.

DIRECTV will donate $200 to Moffitt research for every new customer who subscribes to DIRECTV and for every existing customer who makes a new programming commitment, including its current offer of its exclusive NFL SUNDAY TICKET® package. An IPOD will go to one of the first 25 people who sign up for the DIRECTV offer that day. Representatives from DIRECTV will be on hand to answer questions and to help guests sign up there. Subscriber information is also available by visiting Moffitt’s Web site at www.moffitt.org.
