Moffitt and Sarasota Memorial host Women’s Cancer Awareness Luncheon

Sarasota, Fla. – H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute and Sarasota Memorial Health Care are hosting the Ninth Annual Women’s Cancer Awareness Luncheon October 26 at The Ritz-Carlton, Sarasota.

            Physicians and scientists will present the latest research findings on the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of breast and gynecologic cancers.

            This year’s speakers include Dr. Charles Cox, member of the Comprehensive Breast and Experimental Therapeutics programs, Anna Giuliano, Ph.D., program leader for Risk Assessment, Detection and Intervention and Dr. Rebecca Sutphen, Director, Genetic Counseling and Testing Service.

            In partnership with Moffitt’s affiliates, including those in the Sarasota/Manatee community, Moffitt is initiating a new broad-based cancer care delivery system – Total Cancer Care. Through TCC, Moffitt will provide Florida cancer patients access to the latest lifesaving research, treatment and clinical trials in a way that has never been done before.

Proceeds from the luncheon will benefit breast, ovarian, uterine and cervical cancer research at Moffitt.
