Since it began in 2017, the George Edgecomb Society has been breaking barriers and forging new paths to ensure traditionally underfunded health equities research receives the investment needed to improve treatment and outcomes for Black/African American people with cancer. A new steering committee is ready to take the group to the next level.

GES Chair Valerie Goddard has announced a steering committee aimed at providing support for overall strategy and fundraising efforts. Distinguished members from the community include: Michael Bice, Roland Daniels, Katherine Frazier, Reginald Goins, Jonathan Graham, Gary Hartfield, Jenny Moffitt, Faith Pullen, Patrick Sobers, Lanse Scriven, and Victor Young. Paul Anthony, a member of Moffitt’s national Board of Advisors, also provides support for the GES efforts.

"We’ve only just scratched the surface, so I’m excited about the phenomenal potential for the future of the George Edgecomb Society and the funds we will raise together. I know we will knock it out of the park this coming year," said Goddard.
