Moffitt Cancer Center's hepatobiliary team provides patients access to the latest treatments across surgical, medical and radiation oncology through a multidisciplinary management approach. Over the last several years, the Hepatobiliary Section has developed and strengthened the center’s hepatobiliary expertise.

The program maximizes the ability to provide curative treatments and optimize the delivery of care for each and every patient, including a special focus on the geriatric population. At Moffitt, it is our priority to evaluate every patient in the most comprehensive and efficient way possible. Every patient’s case is presented in our Multidisciplinary Hepatobiliary Tumor Board Conference, ensuring one-stop input from all specialties to establish the best diagnostic and management strategy for each individual patient. Patients are then seen by all involved specialties during one visit, reducing the need for multiple visits, additional travel, and expediting treatment initiation.

The hepatobiliary team at Moffitt sees and treats a high volume of a variety of liver-related diagnoses from across Florida. Additionally we have a close collaboration and well established patient flow process with Tampa General Hospital's organ transplantation team for those patients who would benefit from transplant.

The hepatobiliary malignancies section is one part of Moffitt’s GI Oncology Program. Every member of the integrated GI Oncology team at Moffitt has extensive sub-specialty experience in treating patients with the variety of GI cancers and can handle advanced cases.
