Medical Students

Medical students education at Moffitt Cancer Center

Moffitt welcomes medical students from the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine for clinical rotations on our campus. Medical students enrolled in other schools may apply for USF rotations located at Moffitt through the Visiting Student Application Service. Medical students wishing to visit for a Moffitt rotation should contact the Office of Graduate Medical Education Medical Student Coordinator, lorie.jennings@moffitt.org. The application and clearance process can take up to eight weeks. Rotations are approved on a first come, first served basis depending on successful completion of the clearance process.

Moffitt is also host to medical student clinical research experiences. Many of our faculty members have research projects with tasks appropriate for medical students. Medical students wishing to perform research must first identify and secure the approval of a Moffitt faculty mentor. Medical student researchers must also be cleared through the application and clearance process, if they haven’t already. The process to be approved to do research can take up to 12 weeks.
