Exploring Adherence to CDK4/6 Inhibitors among Metastatic Breast Cancer Patients
Aim: Explore facilitators/barriers of initiation and adherence to CDK4/6 inhibitors and aromatase inhibitors. Approach: We will conduct an in-depth exploration via qualitative interviews of patients treated with CDK4/6 inhibitors (N=8), their primary caregivers (N=8), and oncology providers ( N=8) who utilize this treatment in practice. The proposed study will identify innovative methods and multilevel factors associated with adherence to this important class of new oral therapies for patients with MBC to inform the development of interventions to promote early adherence. Multilevel interventions are particularly useful because they produce synergies and complementary effects for healthcare services with barriers at multiple levels.
