Study Title

Screen to Save: NCI Colorectal Cancer Outreach & Screening Initiative

Summary

The purpose of this study is to provide educational materials and information regarding colorectal cancer (CRC), CRC screenings, and US Preventive Services Task Force's (USPSTF) screening recommendations.

Objective

Specific Aim 1. To implement CHE-directed quarterly CRC educational activities to a minimum of 100 community members aged 50-74 years. Specific Aim 2: Disseminate FIT kits to educational attendees (see aim 1) and provide linkages to care after abnormal FIT. Specific Aim 3. To conduct outcome evaluation of the CRC education using quantitative and qualitative assessments.

Inclusion Criteria

  • Participants will be recruited to complete surveys, education and follow up.
  • Eligibility: 1) are Spanish speaking or English speaking; 2) are between 50 and 74 years of age; 3) are able to provide informed consent; 4) are not-up-to-date with US Preventive Services Task Force's (USPSTF) recommendations; and 5) are not at increased risk for colorectal cancer (CRC).
