14th Annual Business of Biotech Conference

The 14th Annual Business of Biotech conference held February 7 was a great success with a turnout of 378 diverse individuals from biotech companies, universities, startups, investors and entrepreneurs from around the globe.

Focused on the theme "Setting the Pace in the Cancer Race," the conference included four topical education sessions and numerous accomplishments.

Year in Review

Despite the myriad of challenges facing the Innovation Office during 2020, the team worked incredibly hard and achieved impressive results. The team remained focused on Moffitt's mission to contribute to the prevention and cure of cancer.

Executive Message

Fiscal Year 2020 has been a year unlike any other; the COVID-19 pandemic has been crushing on every aspect of society. This devastating disease has spread throughout the world, affecting millions of people. Because the global economy has drastically slowed down, virtually all industries have been significantly impacted, including biotech. This has created an enormous headwind for the Innovation Office's business development activities.

Improving Cybersecurity for the Health Care Industry with ThreatWarrior

ThreatWarrior has partnered with Moffitt Cancer Center to improve cybersecurity for health care organizations. ThreatWarrior developed an advanced software solution that provides high performance cybersecurity threat detection to organizations of all sizes.

Making a Splash with OncoBay Clinical

In October 2019 Moffitt Cancer Center launched OncoBay Clinical, a first-of-its-kind contract research organization (CRO), focused on accelerating promising immunotherapies into cancer patients.

Advancing How Cancer Is Treated One Licensing Deal at a Time

The Patents and Licensing Team is an integral component to the success of the Innovation Office. Working on behalf of Moffitt Cancer Center, the team initiates the multi-year patenting process work with outside patent attorneys to seek protection of the ideas and inventions.
