Vice President, Moffitt Cancer Center Foundation
Susan Stern has been vice president of the Moffitt Cancer Center Foundation since December 2009. She joined the Foundation in 1997 as a Major Gifts Officer, subsequently serving as Foundation executive director for 10 years.
In her role as VP of the Foundation, Stern directs and manages an ongoing strategic plan for the Foundation while building consensus for fundraising goals among internal and external constituencies. She is focused on creating opportunities to support cancer research, patient care and education. During her tenure, the Foundation was honored with the Excellence in Philanthropy Award from the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
Prior to joining Moffitt, Stern held fundraising and development positions with the American Red Cross, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and Big Brothers Big Sisters of America. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Public Relations from the University of Florida.
Stern serves as vice chair of the National Association of Cancer Center Development Officers. She has also served as a board member for the Athena Society, the Plant High School Academic Foundation and St. John’s Episcopal Parish Day School. She is a sustaining member of The Junior League of Tampa and The Tampa Club.
