Dan Hodne

Dan Hodne is the chief of staff, internal relations, for Dr. Patrick Hwu, president and CEO of Moffitt Cancer Center. He provides executive-level support, leadership, administration management, project oversight, communications, relationship-building and decision-making.

Hodne, a combat veteran and retired colonel in the United States Army Special Forces, also known as Green Berets, brings extensive leadership, planning and operations experience. Prior to joining Moffitt in 2017, he served more than 25 years in the military, from leading special operations forces in actions and activities throughout the Middle East and northeast Africa to serving as the Army strategist to two chairmen of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. His last military role was chief of plans at United States Special Operations Command, where he led critical planning efforts of national strategic importance for the National Security Council, Secretary of Defense and chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.  

Hodne is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York, and has master’s degrees from Louisiana State University and the United States Army War College.
