Anatomic Pathology

Anatomic Pathology is a full-service laboratory committed to providing quality and timely patient care in conjunction with clinician support and the educational mission of the hospital. The division is composed of the traditional sections of Anatomic Pathology, including Surgical Pathology, Cytopathology and Autopsy Pathology. The Division also employs the facilities of Molecular Pathology and Flow Cytometry.

Anatomic Pathology offers expert consultative services and advanced techniques in a wide variety of organ systems and subspecialties. Our extensive services encompass surgical pathology, neuropathology, cytopathology, dermatopathology and autopsy. If needed, our pathologists will take advantage of additional studies including immunohistochemistry, FISH analysis and gene polymorphism to identify tumor characteristics that may be important to prescribe the most appropriate form of therapy or to assign a particular patient to a disease-specific clinical trial. Some of these clinical trials and relative testing are unique to the Moffitt Cancer Center.
