The Analytic Microscopy Core (AMC) provides a valuable resource for Moffitt researchers. Resources are provided for those interested in intracellular trafficking and sub-cellular localization of molecules involved in protein phosphorylation; signal transduction; cell cycle progression; cell-to-cell contact; cell motility; cell differentiation; apoptosis, angiogenesis; invasion or metastasis; DNA repair; gene expression; and drug discovery. The AMC’s primary goal is to provide Moffitt members with access to the latest optical microscopy imaging systems and expertise. The AMC provides training and assisted support for all of its microscopes. Core staff members are available to assist investigators in experimental and scientific design of their imaging experiments.

AMC offers the following services:

  • conventional brightfield and fluorescence microscopy
  • confocal microscopy
  • slide scanning
  • specialized microscopy applications: live cell imaging, microinjection, assay development, FRET, FRAP, 3-D image reconstruction, spectral unmixing
  • advanced image analysis, macro development and automated quantification
  • laser capture microdissection
  • tissue microarray analysis
  • comet assay analysis
  • automated slide scanning and analysis
