Objectives

Facilitate and participate in educational health fairs and activities regarding colorectal, prostate, breast, cervical and lung cancers in Hillsborough, Pinellas and Pasco counties
Design and implement the YARO Program (Youth Ambassadors Reaching Out) to educate middle and high school aged youth in Hillsborough, Pinellas and Pasco counties about healthy lifestyles, cancer prevention and promotion, health disparities and smoking prevention through peer-to-peer education
Plan and implement "Ask the Scientist" educational sessions in an effort to increase awareness and knowledge about relevant cancer topics and health disparities research in a community-based setting for community members residing in Hillsborough, Pinellas and Pasco counties
Plan and implement a "Survivorship Empowerment Series" in an effort to provide interactive educational events and sessions addressing the needs and concerns of cancer survivors in the Tampa Bay area
