Education And Training
  • Fellow, Mofiftt Cancer Center & Research Institute, 2014 - Epidemiology
  • PhD, University of Michigan School of Public Health, 2011 - Epidemiological Science

Dr. Pierce Campbell is an epidemiologist whose research focuses on understanding the infectious etiologies of cancer, specifically, the natural history of oral human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and HPV-related oropharyngeal cancer. More recently, her research has expanded to investigate the links between the human microbiome (bacterial, fungal, and viral communities that exist throughout the human body), immune system, cancer development, and response to cancer treatment. Through the use of integrative molecular epidemiological techniques, Dr. Pierce Campbell’s research aims to assist in the development of molecular biomarkers for cancer prevention and early cancer detection, as well as improved response to treatment.
