More than 50,000 patients have consented to join the Total Cancer Care protocol. A Patient Portal has been established to help patients and families track their care, including survivorship, to meet ongoing needs.
Currently, 17 community hospitals and academic centers across the country have joined the Total Cancer Care consortium and all of them are dedicated to improving cancer care.
One of the country’s largest biorepositories, where tissue samples can be centrally stored for long term use, has been constructed. The facility, M2Gen, ensures tissue will be kept in ideal conditions to ensure high quality and availability for scientists to conduct research.
A large data warehouse has been built that will electronically store the vast amount data collected from Total Cancer Care. The data will allow scientists to better understand how cancer works on an individual level and lead to the development of personalized therapies.
