Physical Therapy

Where You Are:

Physical therapy services are provided by licensed clinicians to patients of diverse ages and diagnoses. Physical therapy focuses primarily on the functional ability of the patient, especially as it relates to musculoskeletal and neuromuscular disorders. The physical therapist assesses the patient's specific limitations and the factors that contribute to these limitations, taking into account the individual's overall wellness, underlying medical diagnosis, social and/or emotional factors, and any other circumstances unique to his or her recovery.

The patient and therapist work together to develop a treatment plan to meet specific goals that are appropriate for that patient. During the course of treatment, the therapist performs ongoing reassessments of the patient's progress towards the established goals. Ultimately, the patient is discharged with an independent home exercise program.

Physical Therapy can assist with:

  • Functional mobility training
  • Gait training
  • Balance training
  • Strengthening/therapeutic exercise
  • Range of motion/therapeutic exercise
  • Postural training/body mechanics
  • Equipment recommendations
  • Home exercise programs
  • Family training
  • Lymphedema management
  • Pelvic floor dysfunction/incontinence
