I was born in Kingston Jamaica and have since lived many places, including Toronto, Canada, Miami, Florida and Milford, Connecticut. We have been living in Tampa Bay, Florida since 1999 and being an “island girl at heart” I really enjoy the warm weather and close proximity to the beaches.
My Passion is for people, and I have been blessed that I have been able to use my Masters Degree in Psychology, in organizations that have allowed me to enhance the lives of others. While in Connecticut I was the Executive Director of a homeless shelter that provided a home, educational and job opportunities for mothers and families impacted by HIV/AIDS. I currently serve as Executive Director of Quest Inc., an organization that provides services and opportunities to children and adults with developmental disabilities.
In early 2005, when my child was six weeks old, I was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma and within weeks of receiving that devasting diagnosis. I began receiving treatment at Moffitt Cancer Center. My physicians were extraordinary and took the time needed to explain the treatment process to me and my family. The staff were thoughtful and always took the time for a chat as I moved through-out several clinics. I believe my recovery is as a result of my faith in God, the support of my church, my husband, my family and friends and the excellent care I received at Moffitt. I have returned to Moffitt to help in anyway I can to continue to ensure the patients who walk through our doors every day have world class treatment.
