Dr. William Roberts is a gynecologic oncologist at the Center for Women’s Oncology at Moffitt Cancer Center. Dr. Roberts has been in practice for more than 30 years and joined the Moffitt team when the center opened in 1986.
Dr. Roberts specializes in treatment of early stage gyn cancer as well as recurrent and metastatic disease. He is experienced in the full range of surgical procedures, from minimally invasive robotic surgery to total exenteration, an aggressive surgical procedure for advanced stage gynecologic cancer.
Dr. Roberts is a former president of the Medical Staff of Moffitt Cancer Center and past president of the Florida Society of Gynecologic Oncologists. For many years he was in practice at the Watson Clinic in Lakeland where he served as chief of gynecologic oncology.
Dr. Roberts has been published extensively in peer-reviewed medical journals and written several book chapters on various aspects of women’s cancers, including changing trends in surgical treatments. His many honors and awards include the American Cancer Society Clinical Faculty Fellowship designation for three years consecutive years, as well as the senior resident faculty teaching award from the USF College of Medicine.
