Moffitt Cancer Center Seeks Motivated Undergraduates for Cancer Research Internships

WHO:             Moffitt Cancer Center, the only National Cancer Institute-designated
                        Comprehensive Cancer Center based in Florida, is accepting applications for the

                        Summer Program for the Advancement of Research Knowledge
, or SPARK. Internships
                        are offered to undergraduate students who have an interest in cancer research.

WHAT:           SPARK is a 10-week research training program that provides outstanding undergraduates
                       a summer internship under the guidance of Moffitt scientists. Selected students are
                       assigned a mentor and gain research experience through a variety of programs including

                       Cancer Biology and Evolution
, Cancer Epidemiology, Chemical Biology and Molecular
                       Medicine
, Health Outcomes and Behavior, and Immunology. Selection is based on 
                       relevant experience, a written essay and academic performance, as well as
                       recommendations from teachers or faculty members.
A health screening and orientation
                       process is required. There is no cost to the student, and a taxable stipend is provided.

WHEN:           Application materials must be received by Feb. 15. Participants commit to a 10-week, 40
                        hours-per-week program to be completed anytime between May 1 and Aug. 31.
