WHO: Moffitt Cancer Center, the only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive
Cancer Center based in Florida, will host a Healing and Hope Event at International Plaza
and Bay Street to showcase a variety of health and wellness programs available to
patients during their treatment.
WHAT: Shoppers at International Plaza can practice yoga, create artwork, pet a dog and undergo
a cancer screening all at one spot. Healing and Hope offers the community an inside look
into Moffitt’s Arts In Medicine, Pet Therapy Dogs, Integrative Medicine, Screening and
Prevention, Survivorship, and other programs. Research has shown that stress-relieving
activities can reduce adverse psychological and physiological symptoms in patients.
