WHO: Swim Across America Tampa Bay and Tampa Metro YMCA
WHAT: Registration for the 2013 Swim Across America Tampa Bay event allows access to free
two-hour swim clinics being held at Tampa area YMCA locations.
In addition, those registered for the 2013 Swim Across America – Tampa Bay will also be
given free access to the pool of all YMCA locations within Hillsborough County (proof of
2013 Swim Across America Tampa Bay registration and a driver’s license/ID is required).
This promotion will expire on Friday, May 17, 2013.
The Tampa Bay chapter of Swim Across America, a nonprofit organization dedicated to
raising money for cancer research, prevention and treatment through swimming-related
events, will hold its second-annual open-water fundraising swim benefiting Moffitt Cancer
Center at 8:30 a.m. May 18 at Pier 60 on Clearwater Beach, 7 Causeway Blvd., Clearwater
Beach. Last year’s SAA – Tampa Bay Swim raised $100,000 for Moffitt, and the group is
committed to doubling that this year.
Three-time Olympic champion Brooke Bennett will serve as honorary chair of the event.
Registration for the swim clinics is not necessary. Attendees are asked to bring their 2013
Swim Across America – Tampa Bay registration and a driver’s license/ID to the clinic.
