The R.E.N.E.W. 180® Program is offered through Moffitt’s Department of Nutrition and Integrative Medicine Program. R.E.N.E.W. stands for Recovery with Exercise, Nutrition, Education & Weight management.
R.E.N.E.W. 180® is a comprehensive lifestyle improvement program designed to meet the needs of cancer survivors after they have completed the initial phase of their therapy. This program provides practical and accurate information about nutrition and exercise for cancer risk reduction.
WHAT IS R.E.N.E.W. 180®?
It is a comprehensive lifestyle improvement program designed to help
cancer survivors learn healthy habits and reduce the risk of recurrence.
WHO QUALIFIES FOR R.E.N.E.W. 180®?
Any cancer survivor who has finished treatment (surgery, chemo, or radiation) a minimum of six months ago or more is eligible to participate in the Renew program. You do not have to be a Moffitt patient. It is open to anyone in the community.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
At this time the program is free of charge (usually $180), thanks to the
support of the BeaRosa Wellness Fund.
HOW LONG IS THE PROGRAM?
The program runs for 10 consecutive weeks. Sessions are held weekly and are 90 minutes in length.
WHERE IS IT HELD?
The program is held on Moffitt’s main campus in the Integrative Medicine
Clinic, and also at Moffitt Cancer Center at International Plaza. Twice during the program, the sessions will be off-site.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
R.E.N.E.W. 180® sessions are designed to be fun, interactive and motivating with a positive approach toward a healthy lifestyle.
WHAT IS REQUIRED OF ME DURING THE PROGRAM?
The program is a 10-week commitment; attending every session is very important. There is assigned homework each week.
