Safety is of the utmost priority to Moffitt Cancer Center. Our team applies the principles of physics to ensure that the diagnostic and therapeutic procedures prescribed by physicians are delivered accurately.
Because of the complexity of delivery of radiotherapy with advanced technology, we need a highly skilled physics team. Our team provides services to our main location as well as Moffitt Cancer Center at International Plaza and the Moffitt Radiotherapy Clinic at the Villages. We have more than 20 physicists and dosimetrists as well as postdoctoral fellows and graduate students. Our focus is on delivering the highest quality care we can while also fostering innovation and research to move the field forward and develop more effective treatments with fewer side effects. Since imaging is so directly tied to precisely identifying the extent of the tumor, our Physics Chairman, Dr. Moros, oversees both diagnostic radiology and radiation oncology. This close interdepartmental collaboration fosters continuous improvements in our ability to treat our patients.
