Interventional pain management procedures and injections are performed in a dedicated procedure room in the Moffitt Perioperative Services area on second floor of the hospital. All pain management treatments are performed under C-arm fluoroscopy (X-ray guidance). A variety of interventional pain management treatments are currently available, the majority of which can be performed on an outpatient basis. At Moffitt Cancer Center your interventional pain management treatment options include:
Celiac plexus blockade (CT and fluoroscopically guided)
Hypogastric plexus blocks
Ganglion impar blocks
Facet blocks
Peripheral nerve blocks (Trigeminal, lateral femoral cutaneous, etc.)
Intercostal blocks, which are amenable to radiofrequency or chemical denervation
Spinal cord stimulation
Implantable intrathecal pumps
Tunneled epidural catheters for long-term use
Epidural corticosteroid injections
Sympathetic blocks (Stellate ganglion, lumbar sympathetic)
Discography
IDET (Intradiscal Electrothermal Annuloplasty)
Percutaneous disc decompression (Nucleoplasty and Decompressor)
Intraarticular steroid or Synvisc injections
Botox injections for headache
