Living with cancer poses many challenges for patients and families. Professionally led support groups can provide a safe and affirming environment in which to learn alternative methods of coping, obtain information about cancer and its treatment, gain problem-solving skills, practice communication and alleviate feelings of isolation. Brain Tumor Support Group
Support group for patients with primary and metastatic brain tumors and their families, friends and caregivers. Meets the first Saturday of each month, 10-11 a.m., Muriel Rothman Building, GU/Senior Adult Clinic, 1st floor - the clinic is behind the gold valet information desk.
Cancer Support Group
Support group for patients with any cancer diagnosis. Meets every Tuesday, 1-2 p.m., 5th floor lounge of hospital. Use elevator C.
Family and Friends Group
Support group for family members, friends and caregivers of cancer patients. Meets every Tuesday, 1-2 p.m., 5th floor of the hospital, room 5140 A. Use elevator C.
Look Good - Feel Better
Consultation with beauty specialists (wigs, make-up) for women treated for cancer, 2nd Tuesday of every month, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Must contact American Cancer Society at 813-254-3630 to register.

Young adults with cancer face unique needs. Below are resources for patients and caregivers, family and friends.
Meet Up for Patients:
Join others (ages 20-32) dealing with cancer at the monthly "Meet-Up." Meets the 2nd Wednesday of every month at 1 p.m., 5th floor lounge of the hospital (use elevator C).
Connect Up for Caregivers, Family and Friends:
Join others seeking support and "Connect Up." Meets the 2nd Wednesday of every month at 1 p.m., 5th floor day room of the hospital (use elevator C).
