Moffitt Cancer Center values its diverse patient population and is committed to honoring their ethnic, religious and cultural differences.

Language Services at Moffitt Cancer Center is one of the most extensive in the greater Tampa Bay area 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. As part of the health care team, our interpreters help to break language barriers and serve as cultural brokers to patients and staff.

The Cancer Center provides the following at no additional cost to patients:

  • Face-to-face interpreters on-site in Spanish-language
  • Utilizes the latest advances in technology such as telephonic and video interpreting to provide access to 143 languages and dialects 24 hours a day/365 days a year
  • American Sign Language interpretation
  • Translation of documents to patient’s preferred language for medical communication

They assist in interactions with patients and visitors by providing the best possible care for our patients with limited English proficiency and for our deaf and hard of hearing patients.
