Moffitt Cancer Center values its diverse patient population and is committed to honoring their ethnic, religious and cultural differences.

Language Services at Moffitt Cancer Center is one of the most extensive in the greater Tampa Bay area 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. As part of the health care team, our interpreters help to break language barriers and serve as cultural brokers to patients and staff.

The cancer center provides the following at no additional cost to patients:
     
  • Spanish certified interpreters on site
  • The latest advances in interpreting technology, such as telephone and videointerpreting services to provide access to over 180 languages 24/7
  • American Sign Language interpretation via live certified interpreters and VRI (video remote interpreting)
  • Translation of applicable medical documents into the patient’s preferred language

  • They assist in interactions with patients and visitors by providing the best possible care for our patients with limited English proficiency and for our deaf and hard of hearing patients.
