Screening & Testing

Where You Are:

At Moffitt Cancer Center, we have many ways to screen and test for brain tumors. Our neuro-oncology team has the latest advancements in diagnosis at their fingertips, including computed tomography (CT) scans and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).

The most accurate way to make a brain tumor diagnosis is through craniotomy or biopsy surgery, which allows our highly skilled neurosurgeons to see the type of tumor and obtain a specimen to better understand its unique pathology. Our team also has PET scans, functional brain tumor MRIs, lumbar puncture and EEG (electroencephalography) to make an accurate assessment of a tumor and the appropriate treatment pathway.
