Community Outreach/ Community Relations
Our efforts to eliminate health disparities begin at the grassroots level. Through collaborations with community members, businesses, government agencies and other health care providers, we engage the diverse communities of Tampa Bay in our cancer prevention, education and research activities.
Cultural and Linguistic Competency
Educating and preparing our staff on the various nuances of different cultures is key to continuous improvement in health outcomes and the reduction of health inequities.
Employee Diversity & Retention
We strive to support the needs of our employees in order to recruit and retain a talented pool of professionals who are as richly diverse as the community we serve.
Health Disparities Research
We have researchers from all over the world, representing many different disciplines, aggressively working in partnership with affected communities to address health disparities related to education, prevention, diagnosis, treatment and ultimately the goal of eliminating these disparities.
Minority Participation in Clinical Trials
Education and awareness of the importance of clinical trials may also help address health disparities. Our goal is to ensure that we have significant representation of all groups participating in clinical trials and research studies at Moffitt Cancer Center.
Patient Access
We’re continually identifying creative ways to address and reduce both the real and the perceived barriers to accessing quality health care.
