Sponsoring and attending signature events that benefit Moffitt Cancer Center are exciting ways to support our life-saving work. Throughout the year, Moffitt hosts events that attract widespread public support from corporate and civic leaders and generous individuals.

January

The Sarasota Cancer Symposium will be held on Thursday, Jan. 14, 2010, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Ritz-Carlton, Sarasota. For more information, contact the Moffitt Foundation at 813-745-1403.

Bowling "Ball" – Moffitt's Corporate Partners Program presents the Bowling “Ball” at Splitsville to benefit prostate cancer research. The Bowling Ball is scheduled for Thursday, March 4, 2010. The 2009 event raised more than $18,000 for prostate cancer research at Moffitt!

April

The Magnolia Ball is Moffitt’s annual black-tie gala. Held in the spring, it supports research, patient care, education and the Magnolia Lodging Program. The 2009 Magnolia Ball raised $2.8 million for these important programs. For more information, please visit www.MagnoliaBall.com. The Skanska/Moffitt Classic is an annual golf tournament held at the prestigious, nationally known Old Memorial Golf Club. The day includes golf, lunch, an awards reception and a silent auction. KEY TO THE CURE – In October, Saks Fifth Avenue holds the annual KEY TO THE CURE shopping weekend. During the four-day event, Saks Fifth Avenue at WestShore Plaza donates a percentage of sales to benefit breast, ovarian, uterine and cervical cancer research at Moffitt. The Moffitt Cancer Center Foundation will host Fall for the Cause, a women’s cancer awareness luncheon, at The Port Royal Club, 2900 Gordon Drive in Naples, at 11:30 a.m. on Nov. 4. The luncheon will feature leading Moffitt Cancer Center experts in breast, ovarian, uterine and cervical cancers: Johnathan M. Lancaster, M.D., Ph.D., director of the Center for Women’s Oncology at Moffitt and chair of its Department of Women’s Oncology; Robert M. Wenham, M.D., M.S., F.A.C.O.G., clinical director of Moffitt’s Gynecologic Oncology Program; and Susan E. Minton, D.O., associate professor in the Don and Erika Wallace Comprehensive Breast Program. Fall for the Cause tickets cost $100, and patron tickets are $200. Sponsorships are available starting at $1,000 as a table host and $2,500 as a Gold Sponsor. Proceeds from the event will benefit Moffitt Cancer Center research.
